My professional mission is to serve and support higher education through a commitment to student success and access, while effectively investing in human, social, political, built, financial, natural, and cultural capitals and prudently serving as the steward of institutional and organizational resources.
My ethos is supported through excellence in teaching and service to students, modeling servant leadership, and fostering inclusivity, teamwork, collaboration, and partnerships. I believe a strong foundation is built upon shared governance, transparency, open communication, diversity, and encouraging life-long learning.
Among the values I hold as important are mutual respect, excellence, service, honesty, hard work, and a healthy sense of humor. My talents and skills are supported by a unique combination of formal education, three decades of senior executive experience in higher education and the private and public sectors, and recognized excellence in entrepreneurship, teaching, leadership and scholarship.
My mission and values serve to inform my scholarship. In particular, my research interests significantly contribute to the advancement of two-and four-year degree programs, dual enrollment, student success and access, equity, and the role higher education can play in closing the attainment gap, improving the nation’s competitive standing on the global stage, and meeting the demands of the state and local workforce.

I currently serve as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Consultant for Higher Education and Student Success of The Busch Professional Group, LLC, among the nation's top consulting firms, not only in the United States, but globally. I served as Vice President of Instruction, Guided Pathways, and Dual Enrollment at Pima Community College, Tucson, Arizona, Dean of Liberal Arts (with additional student services responsibilities) at North Central State College, Mansfield, Ohio, Dean of Arts and Sciences (with additional student services responsibilities) at Washington State Community College, Marietta, Ohio, member of the Board of Governors of West Virginia University at Parkersburg where I also served an an assistant professor, director (dean level), and program coordinator. In addition, I serve as a national content expert for each of the Game Changers with Complete College America and was the founding State Team Lead for Complete College Arizona, an Alliance member of Complete College America. I serve as a member of the Peer Review Corps for the Higher Learning Commission. I am an active scholar regarding contemporary issues facing higher education, speak nationally on the student success agenda, collaborate with an international publisher, engage governmental leadership in advocacy for student success and higher education, and serve as a consultant on a wide range of issues.
